Drums Alive today!

We had another really exciting musical learning experience today when Steve from "Drums Alive" came and showed us how we could make music and get fit at the same time! It was really fun using the drum sticks on the swiss balls. Thanks for coming Steve!

Room 13 creativity collage

This term we've been exploring Creativitity through the context of Musical instruments. Here is a collage showing some of the things we've been doing. In the collage you can see our class in a music workshop with a specialist music teacher. You can also see members of the Thunderbolts community working in groups creating their understanding about musical instruments and sound.

UHPS CROSS COUNTRY

After five weeks of training we had School Cross Country today. We all did our best and finished the course. Many people placed in their age group race. 

Congratulations to Logan (1st- 9 year girls), and Leanne (3rd- 9 year girls). 

Congratulations to Brianna (1st- 10 year girls), Ella (2nd- 10 year girls), Brydie (3rd- 10 year girls) and Beau (5th- 10 year girls). 

Also congratulations to Taylor (5th- 9 year boys), and Sam (6th- 10 year boys). 

Well done everyone- you really showed resilience and perserverance!!

Sustainability challenge!

On Tuesday the 27th of May 4 year six girls, (Brianna, Ella, Jessica and Melissa), lead by Mrs. Robertson competed in the junior school sustainability challenge at Long Bay regional park. 

The challenge took place over a 5 kilometre area. There were 36 schools attending and 52 activities to complete in 2 hours. 

Over the course of the event there were lots of challenges to solve from maths questions to sustainability challenges, e.g. analysing the quality of water, and identifying water bugs.

Thanks Mrs. Robertson for leading the girls on this great opportunity!

Dance lessons with Beau for Teach me Tuesday!

It was Teach me Tuesday again today. Beau did a great job teaching us how to dance. She was really patient with us, and gave us heaps of opportunities to practise the routine. 


After 30 minutes we were ready to perform. Watch to see our very first performance of Beau's dance. (Sorry about the video quailty!)

Uptown funk fun!

We had such a blast at school this afternoon. We were very lucky to have our very own music lesson with a music teacher called Aston. 

She brought a large selection of musical instruments with her and we tried our hand at playing them, (many of which we had never played before). 

We played our instruments along to one of our favourite songs- Uptown Funk!
